Hawaii Keiki Museum - Explorers: Earth, Sea, and Stars Workshop

What to Expect
Day 1: Monday, June 9 – Learning the Big Island
- Craft Your Own Big Island Map: Create a 3D map to explore the island’s geography and natural features.
- Hands-On Agricultural Adventure: Learn about local crops and animals through interactive mapping and clay modeling.
- Fizzy Volcanoes & Sweet Eruptions: Engage in a fun science experiment simulating volcanic eruptions with safe, edible materials.
Day 2: Tuesday, June 10 – The Water Cycle
- Water Cycle in a Bag: Visualize evaporation, condensation, and precipitation through a simple experiment.
- Rain Clouds in a Jar: Simulate precipitation to understand how rain forms.
- Water Filtration Device: Build a simple system to learn about water purification methods.
Day 3: Wednesday, June 11 – Ocean Exploration
- Ocean Layers in a Bottle: Explore the density and polarity of oil and water to understand ocean layers.
- Ocean Currents Simulation: Visualize how warm and cold waters create ocean currents.
- Water Pressure Fun: Discover how water pressure increases with depth in the ocean.
